What's in my bag?

November 17, 2015

I have done quite a bit of travelling in the past few years, both internationally and domestically. I enjoy taking off to new places, whether they are exotic or just the opposite, but perhaps even more than that, I like sharing my experiences and my adventures with you guys. In this post I'd like to share some tips on how to travel in a smart and stylish way.

First things first: What to pack in your carry-on?
It really depends on where you are heading, but here a few basic necessities to keep with you on your flight no matter how long or short it is. I bring these things with me all the time.

I.D. This is a no-brainer. Bring with you the necessary identification items specially if you are flying overseas.  A passport, student's ID or a driver's license will do. Also bring with you your debit/credit card, just in case you ran out of needed cash.

Toiletries You do not need to bring your entire bathroom cabinet with you. My on the go make-up necessities are just mascara, lipstick, compact powder, balm, blush and sometimes a compact eyeshadow kit. My tip is put them on a Ziploc for it is helpful for taking out when passing through security and it creates more space rather than obtaining a separate pouch. One last thing: pack something to pull back your hair, like a clip or a hair binder. Just because.

Boredom Busters  Pack with you a book that you may enjoy and that isn't very heavy. Or it can be a puzzle book and a pen. If you're not a reader, bring those headphones to tune out your annoying seat mate and listen to your favorite bands. Ofcourse any travel wouldn't be complete without snapping along some pictures for keepsakes. For me I always have my phones and a handy point and shoot camera.

Snack I always pack some sort of snack because I'm always hungry! Suggestions that will pass through security and won't weigh you down: granola, protein or snack bars and crackers.

Lifesavers Pack along your favorite mints or gum, sunglasses, fan, sweater and sanitizers. The sunglasses and fan will help you when you lang at your sunny destination, and the sweater will keep you warmer if you happen to get on a freezing plane. Tie the sweater around your waist if it doesn't fit in your bag.

Hope this post helps you trim down your choices on what to really bring on your  future travels!!
