Angkor Wat, Cambodia

July 17, 2015

Angkor Wat is a temple you have to see at least once in your life. It was literally like living inside a postcard. Every glance and step took me a hundred years to the past. Every scenic view was so magnificent that it was almost impossible for me to choose the photos
I'm sharing to you guys. Until now I still firmly believe that photos don't do justice as to what I've experienced in Cambodia.
What most people don't know is Angkor Wat (City of Temples) is actually the name of the main temple not the entire complex. It was built in the time of King Suryavarman II in the 12th century and is the best-preserved and the most visited temple in the site. The complete temple area is only known as Angkor and each king built at least one giant temple during his rule.
Though elephants are a good way to get around the complex, I would still recommend to take the Tuk Tuk. It lets you see more places in a day, and is very affordable. In fact I even recorded myself while riding it cause I was fascinated by it.
We entered from east gate of the main temple in order to appreciate the different architectural designs surrounding Angkor Wat. And truly it did not disappoint for every side was just as impressive as the main temple.
With the summer heat really setting in, you would think it was such an agony walking around the complex but seeing this in front of you makes that one shade darker skin tone worthwhile.
I had to take a serious flight of stairs to get to the top of Angkor Wat to see the more intricate designs inside the temple. Every hall around it was just overwhelming and it would clearly
Honestly for a second while I was taking this picture, I really forgot about the intense heat because what was in front of me was so surreal that I had to look at it again and appreciate on how their culture was so preserved that every corner was filled with details and meaning. My trip to Cambodia is beyond worthwhile. It is impossible not to fall in love with this place.

Till I see you again Cambodia.
